For Sale: Instruments from the Orpheon Foundation - Museum of Historical Musical Instruments: An instrument of particular importance - a viola da gamba of the 17th C. - will now be purchased for the Orpheon Collection. We will be selling several instruments from the collection, located in Vienna, Austria  to finance the purchase of this viola da gamba.

NOTE: The instruments we are making available have outstanding tonal characteristics, are remarkably easy to play (proper set-up) and would under normal circumstances not be considered for sale. This is an exception. These instruments would satisfy the requirements of a professional musician for his entire playing life.  Please take a look by clicking on the links below.   Thanks!!

New Music for Viol!! - Viol Fantasias - Now Available here to try for Free!

New Music Added June 7th, 2010!!

It seems like most of the fantasias for viols that were written during the renaissance have been found and published. Do you sometimes wish that more music had been composed for viols?? The music below is an attempt to create new music with the same style and feel as the old music. It is music written for viols by a long time viol player. Print a copy of the music for yourself, and play it with friends. I hope that you enjoy it. If you come back to www.vdgsne.org in the future there will be more music available. You can write me about what you liked about the music (or didn't like) at kathyandtomk@verizon.net.

The Score and individual parts for each Fantasia are available here in PDF form.  Just click on those you'd like to try:
