Boston Early Music Festival Participation   The Viola da Gamba Society - New England supports the efforts of the Boston Early Music Festival.  During the 2007 festival, we offered a display of viol related information, concerts, and resources at the Exhibition, and conducted demonstrations of viol playing for interested vistors. A highly successful "Viol Petting Zoo" was conducted where interested students and others from the Boston area were able to try the viol for themselves.

Silbiger Grant Program :

The Silbiger Grant supports church musicians and viol players who wish to collaborate on rarely performed verse anthems and cantatas by Gibbons, Byrd, Tomkins, Schutz, Tunder and others, in the context of church services (rather than in concert format).  It is offered to New England viol players and music directors from churches or synagogues in the region applying as a team.  Read more by clicking on the link!

Deadline for application for next season is June 15, 2008. Please contact the committee by mail at VdGS-NE, P.O. Box 192, Belmont MA 02478 (or Jane Hershey at hershey@blakeville.mv.com or at 603-899-5036).
